MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mr Salihu Gadzama versed experience in insurance span over a period of
25years. He started his Insurance career with Lion of Africa Insurance Co.
Ltd in 1986 where he was a management trainee. He later become the
Branch Manager and also rose to the position of Assistant controller and
Deputy General Manager respectively. He later joined Industrial and
General Insurance Plc (IGI) as an Assistant Director. Upon retirement in
2014 and joined Optimal Insurance Brokers as a Director.
He holds an ordinary and National Diploma in Marketing. He also holds
post graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and well as a master of
commerce degree in marketing communication from University of
Strathclyde, Glasgow.
He is a member of several professional bodies which include; Associate of
the chartered Insurance Institute, London (ACII), Associate of Chartered
Insurance Institute, Nigeria (ACIIN), Fellow, Institute of Corporate
Executives (FICEN).
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the company

Victoria Ikwunze, a driven and Result Oriented Risk Manager started her Career in
the Insurance Industry with Linkage Assurance Plc as a Business development
officer in 2003. She proceeded in 2005, to International Energy Insurance PLC in
Port-Harcourt as a Senior Executive, and in 2007, she rose to the position of a
Branch Manager in the Yenagoa branch of the coy. She proceeded to ADIC Insurance
Limited in 2012, where she worked briefly as a Deputy Manager before joining
Optimal Insurance Brokers Ltd as an Executive Director.
She holds a B.SC in Psychology (1999) and an M.SC in Risk Management from
Glasgow Caledonian University, United Kingdom (2009). She is a Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management (F. CILRM). She has also
attended several Insurance Trainings, seminars and conferences both in Nigeria and
in the United Kingdom including ‘Deep Sea Oil and Gas Conference’ in Aberdeen.
She has interest in ‘Strategic Management’, ‘Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)’ as
well as ‘Change Management’ and has some research work to her Credit in these
areas.
As a seasoned Underwriter and Marketer, she has attended various
technical/management courses/trainings.
She is an Associate member of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN),
Associate member of the Chartered institute of Insurance Brokers (ACIB), Fellow of
the Chartered institute of Loans and Risk Management (FCILM) and a member,
Chartered Insurance Institute London (CII).
NOJEEM BAKARE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Nojeem Bakare is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, a seasoned Underwriter and
a result-oriented mentor. He started his Insurance carer with Fire, Equity &
General Ins. Co. Ltd in 1994 as an underwriting executive where he was groomed
in all facets of underwriting & claims of general and special risks. His insurance
career till date has thrived for 23 years.
He rose to the position of HOD, general businesses before he joined First Chartered
Insurance Co. Ltd in 2002 as the Head of Technical Operations – Southern region;
responsible for every underwriting technicalities & claims, risks management,
surveys/inspections in the entire region, rendering professional advice & technical
backup to the regional office’s marketing team and acting as the policies analyst to
our highly esteemed proposers and the existing clients.
He joined Sovereign Trust Ins. Plc in 2004 as their Head of Technical Operations –
South in the above capacity before he joined International Energy Insurance Plc (IEI)
in the year 2008 as their Regional Claims Manager – South; before joining Optimal
Insurance Brokers Ltd in January 2016 as an Executive Director.
As a seasoned Underwriter, he has attended various technical/management
courses/trainings including Advanced Marine & Aviation Insurance Int’l course at
ASCON. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN), a
Fellow of the chartered institute of Loans and risk management. He is a graduate of
the Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM) and also holds an MBA in
management from University of Ado-Ekiti
